Dear Spirit at Work Community,
After 14 years of working together to support people around the world in integrating spirituality in the workplace, the International Center for Spirit at Work has decided to become dormant, while staff members pursue other interests. We are proud of our many accomplishments, which include:
- We have built an international community of people who share an interest in the integration of spiritual values and practices in the workplace.
We have created an online resource center of articles, tools, case studies, teleconference recordings, research, and other relevant information on spirituality in the workplace.
We have provided information to the media and to researchers about the spirituality in the workplace movement with mention in over 80 publications and with interviews on radio, television, internet television, and references to our work in numerous books, including best-sellers.
We helped to create the Management, Spirituality, and Religion Special Interest Group at the Academy of Management, and helped to initiate the Management, Spirituality, and Religion Promising Dissertation Awards.
We created the International Spirit at Work Awards and identified 42 organizations with a presence in 37 countries. Short case studies have been written on almost all of these organizations.
We held four international conferences that profiled the work of the International Spirit at Work Honorees, and we participated in and supported numerous other organizations in their conferences. We also held two awards ceremonies in conjunction with the Spirit in Business Conferences.
We built a strong partnership with the World Business Academy, the European Baha'i Business Forum, and several other like-minded organizations.
We published a newsletter, first in print format, and later online, for 14 years, all of which have been archived.
We offered weekly or bi-weekly teleconference series for the past five years with nationally recognized leaders, authors, and experts on spirituality in the workplace, all of which are recorded.
We created a course on spirituality in the workplace that has been offered online and through tele-classes
We created an international Board of Trustees, with members from the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and South Africa. We also created an international Selection Committee for the International Spirit at Work Awards that has had members from the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and China.
We want to thank all of those people who joined the International Center for Spirit at Work and provided your financial support and time. We are grateful to our sponsors who have supported our conferences and other activities. And most of all, we are grateful to God/Spirit/Universal Consciousness/Higher Power for guiding us in our work and in our human connections. We will continue to follow that guidance and do our best to honor the still small voice within.
