With extensive experience in highly technical areas of the field.<br /> Now I cannot seem to find my niche. <br /> <br /> I have been in management, but my value system cannot align itself with many of the goals of administration, most especially cutting staff, denying raises due to budget constraints in an organizational culture that despite a multi-billion dollar profit margin insists on making business decisions that are unsafe to make an extra dollar.<br /> <br /> I have many collegues who have managed to just get out of nursing, or not practicing at the bedside, they have become pharm. reps. legal nurse consultants, management, I know one who opened an herb store.. But I love taking care of patients. I enjoy nursing.<br /> When folks talk to me about the "nursing shortage" I am quick to point out that there are thousands and thousands of nurses in the US but they are not practicing due to many reasons including working conditions. My education in nursing is a ADN, I could obtian additional education if I had an idea of what exactly to persue.<br /> <br /> I feel like a wolf who is frantically trying to find the trail. A trail I was confident of and have been on for a long time.<br /> I am wondering what is happening and how I possibly can get to where I am supposed to be. I don't expect any one to hand me a map, but I guess I just feel frantic about trying to discover what my destination should be. With a goal I usually make quick progress.
