jobs.ac.uk was created in 1997 by the University of Warwick- the brainchild of the former Deputy Director of Personnel, Alex Sproat, who realised how expensive and ineffective traditional recruitment channels were becoming. The idea was then taken up by the Universities Advertising Group (UAG) - a consortium of 37 UK institutions, responsible for the procurement of cost effective recruitment advertising to the HE sector - of which Edinburgh, Manchester, Oxford, Cambridge, Liverpool, Bristol, Durham, Warwick and Birmingham Universities are membersPhoto Edit
